Can a commercial yellow attachment like the 93 backhoe work on a green JD 2255? My local JD house handles only the green farm equipment & they tell me they can't find out about the commercial attachments being compatible w/the farm equipment. I have a chance to pickup the 93 backhoe attachment at an auction but no need to if it won't work w/my tractor.

Thanks for your responses! They were very helpful. Think I need to keep looking for attachments that are a better fit for what I've got!

The 9300 is open center hydraulics, needs 28 gpm at 2250 psi to run right. Weight 3500 lbs. An old but good Hoe.

Is it a 9300 hoe attachment? If it is that's a fairly heavy hoe. You need to find out if the hoe is open or closed center hydraulics and what your tractor is. The backhoe valve may be convertable to one or the other. You'ld also need a bigger hydraulic pump to run the hoe. Most of the quick attach hoes need a power beyond adapter on the tractor loader valve to hook up the hoe hydraulics. They also usually have special mounting brackets that the hoe fits on. It's not a simple answer to your question. It could probably be made to work but might need a lot of tinkering and money to do. Someone else will probably have some more info for you. Dave
