can't seem to get any grip on the left brake. Petal goes to the floor . . . nothing. I can see the band moving when I push in the petal.
How hard is it to install a new brake lining? How do I tell if the old one is shot? Where do I get one? Thanks for your help.
I can send pics of the turnbuckle adjustments and
anything that might help. BKim9166@aol.com

Brad//The metal part of band is 3/32 thick ,shoes could be rivet or bonded. How much thread sticks below jam nuts?As i stated before there are two adj a adj slot on brake pedal arm under floor plate [minor adj] if you do a [major adj]at band after adj make shore you can move band sideways otherwise it is too tight.

Brad: I strongly recommend you aquire a Chassis Service Manual. Click on Tractor Manuals on the YT site.

The first set of bands I changed were on a TD9 before I had the manual. What a wrestling match! Fact is, if I would have had a service manual and followed the proper multi-step adjusting proceedure, I wouldn't have had to change them. There was still servicable lining left.

When time came to change them on my other TD9 I had the manual. Sure made things easier, although even at that it's a j-o-b.
