310A Backhoe ...... No Inching Control

I don't have a lot of "inching control" when I'm trying to ease into a load while easing out on the clutch pedal. I can get the tractor to move pretty slow but not really creap like I would like. It tends to sort of jump out not creap. The tech manual mentions the reverser control valve having a valve, spring and stop which aids in the ability to do this. About a year ago I replaced a leaking gasket on the clutch control valve cover. I remember looking at both the valve and the spring but at the time I didn't really understand it's purpose nor was that the focus of my attention. But I do remember everything appeared to look normal. No scratches, debris or broken springs. I'm wondering if I might still have a weak spring or possibly some trash or should I be looking in another direction.
Thanks
Tom

310-A 's were never known to be a super smooth inching machine..They are not a torque converter machine..Have you had it long ?? Are you used to something else?? It takes some finessing with the clutch pedal to make a smooth loading machine. It can be done though..Is the clutch pedal adjusted correctly ?? There is a stop on the pedal that swings up for engine clutch disconnection for cold weather starting..Where that pedal stop hits the floor [ in the down position ] that is supposed to be the transition between shutting oil off in the reverser and actually disconnecting the engine clutch..So in essence the entire top of the pedal till it hits the floorboards is shutting off oil in the reverser..I've seen a few times someone has adjusted the pedal like a truck clutch with 1/2" freeplay at the top of the pedal..Won't work that way...

Thanks Roy,
I've had the tractor about 4 years. It appears the clutch pedal is adjusted properly. I'm just comparing it to my farm tractor (JD3020). It's really nothing I can't live with. I'm just reading my way through the tech manual and trying to work out all the bugs on this old hoe. Dealer put in a new engine and front pump and rebuilt the reverser in 2003. I just use it around the farm and so far it's really been a pleasure to have around. Still have some hydraulic issues that I'm working through as I get time. Nothing that most other 80 model hoes wouldn't have.
Thanks again for all your help.
