Hi;

Hope I can find some help on this knowledgable forum. I have been asked by my sister-in-law who's husband recently passed away to help her dispose of some of his property. One of his possessions was a little used International Harvester Crawler/Grader. I know absolutely nothing about heavy equipment, but here's what I do know. It has a 6-cylinder diesel, and the only name plate data I could find on it stated International Diesel, Drott Skid-Shover, Model 1.50 K3, and Serial A 16329. It runs great and everything seems to operate as it should, but what do I know?? I have posted a pic, and I have plenty more I can send to anyone who can provide some info for the unit, or point me in the right direction. Many thanks;

Don, hornbrod@yahoo.com

That's an International 150 tracked loader with a GP bucket on it. They made these between 1963 and 1974, I'd say that one is from the sixties (they're all very similar though). They came equipped with one of two engines: The manual shift transmission gear drive versions came with a turbocharged IH D282 6 cyl direct starting diesel engine producing 71hp at 1800rpm. The powershift versions (equipped with torque converter) came with a naturally aspirated (non-turbo) D282 producing 75hp at sea level @ 2200-2300 rpm. I think what you have there is a powershift machine based on the shifter guard located to the operator's left (the guard helps to prevent the FWD-REV powershifter from inadvertantly being engaged). The 150 loader with GP bucket weighed right around 20,500lbs (or roughly 10 tons). The 150 loader is based on the TD9B dozer chassis, so many parts will interchange between the two models. The 150 is also similar to the earlier TD9-92 Drott loader, which also had a turbo D282 engine.

If you need to know anything else, just ask. I have one of these machines and it's been good to me. Also there might be someone over at the redpower site that might be interested in it if you want to post it over there.

Does anyone have any information of where I can find parts for my standard transmission drott skid shovel. or what other machine carried that same standard transmission.

I also need information on overhaul parts for the engine 6cylinder diesel.

Don, --- I'm looking for some kind of track type machine to try to clean up my 52 acres. Where are you located? I'm in central Oklahoma (Cushing). What other information can you supply about this tractor? I am not a trader, collector, dealer, or anything except a guy looking for a pusher. Any info and price you could furnish would be appreceiated. Thanks ! Bob

Thanks for the reply Bob. The Drott is located in Trinity, AL, not far from Huntsville, AL. My brother-in-law had the same plans as you do, but unfortunately never got to it. I found out from my sister-in-law last night that he had installed a rebuilt fuel pump last year before he passed away because of a small leak, and it has not been started since. Turns over fine, but does not fire. It ran great before this, and he ran it around his cotton fields. The pump is most likely not installed correctly and it's affecting the timing (my guess). This will be an easy fix, and I'll find someone to do it locally. Cosmetically the tractor is great, and it's been in the family here in 'Bama it's whole life. I really have no idea what it's worth, but will do some research. Send me your email and I can shoot some more pics. Don
