I know of an auction coming up with a couple of used IH 412 scrapers. Both are county owned machines - one has low hours. Does anyone have any experience with these? What should I look out for?

Ya i have run them before, watch for worn out pins on the neck/steering cylinder pins, those can get expensive to put new pins and bushings in, as it does on any motor scraper/buggy/pushpull. And as i am sure you aready know just look around the scraper... if the bowl is all beat up and worn out that usually means it doesn't have low hours, another good indication of how much work its done is how battered the push block on the back end is. But all in all they are good little machines, usually cheap to buy as well.
