Just picked up a backhoe and looking to ID it.
It has a pump for the swing instead of cylinders. Extended it is roughly 16 1/2' from pivot to bucket teeth.

I got the 4 pin plate with the hoe. Does someone know how high this plate should be mounted in repsect to the ground.

Any other info would be appreciated.

Thanks Rick

I identified mine by searching the John Deere web sight.Use "*" ie, ***93***.then look through the pictures to find parts that match
mine turned out to be a 93.

If it is a Model 93, then the same comments about the differences between it and the Model 50 apply except that the 93 came out in the late 60s.

I own a Model 50 backhoe attachment; I am not really familiar with the 9300 but have looked at the spec brochure for it and it appears to have the barrel swing cylinder or a variant of it (as you described). Thus this is my $0.02 as a Model 50 owner.

If so, the main difference between the two according to the specs appears to be the age (the Model 50 came out in the early 60s; the Model 9300 came out in the mid 80s.). The specifications otherwise don"t appear to be all that different (there are some minor differences in the reach and digging depth specs).

Heres a picture of the 4 pin plate. I need the height of this plate with respect to the ground.

Just grabbed this pic off the internet.

Thanks in advance.

Rick

It's not real critical. You need the hoe off the ground with the stick pulled in transport position. If the bucket is higher you can go up a steeper slope. When working the stabilizers go down and support the hoe, so as long as they go down enough to pick up the back of the carrier and level it on uneven ground, you would be OK. The hoes were made to fit on different machines that weren't all the exact same height. Dave
