I have read a few of the questions and answers in this forum and I have a question regarding a 1988 JCB 1400B 4X4 Backhoe..... ...Could anyone please tell me what type of transmission oil is best to use for my above mentioned backhoe make and model - it has a shuttle shift transmission? Also could anyone tell me what type of gear oil to use for this same backhoe - it has a self contained rear end with wet breaks? The JCB dealer is saying to use the JCB products which I will do if that is best for the backhoe, however, if there is are after market products that are equally as good and not so costly then I would like to know if I have any other options to consider. I recently purchased this backhoe as a "toy" and I am working on it, bit by bit in my spare time, to bring it up to snuff and looking good! Thanks for any advice you can give. dgc
