Helicoil for my brake backing plate bolts

I have a Massey 470 wheel loader. My problem is that the wheel hub is bolted to through the brake backing plate to the actual hub that hangs on the end of the axle tube.
When the last guy reinstalled the bolts after he repaired teh axled he didnt use washers and the bolt head shoulders started to work through the bolt holes loosening things up. At the end of the day the wheel was sitting crooked on the axle. I tore it down and found all the bolts loose with three bolts out completely and a fourth bolt hole gone oval.
I've picked up some helicoil to rectify the one bolt hole.
Is this a bad idea? I'm thinking that the helicoil wont stand up t o the pressures in that particular case.

If you want a really good repair that will be stronger than the original go to your nearest Cat dealer and buy a set of threaded inserts, I don't know what size bolt you have so I can't give you a part number.they have them in both inch and metric from machine screw to 1 1/2 in. E mail me the size and I will give you the part number. what thread also, NC or NF

sounds good. I wasn't sure as this helicoil thing is new to me. Never worked with it before. What is the principle behind the helicoil anyways? does the bolt when threaded in hte hole and tightening press teh helicoil threads into the threads of the hole and make it tight or what? How does it work?

Typically a properly Helicoiled thread is as strong or stronger than the origional threaded hole so you shouldn't have any problems if you take the time and make sure everything is done right. Good luck.
