I am trying to determine the size of the 2 bucket pins on my 170c case - poclain excavator. I have parts books but no where does it give the diameter dimension of the pins. I have tried to measure the existing ones and come up with 3 inches and 3.5 inches for the 2. I understand that these pins are really metric in size and probably either 70,80, or 90 mm in size. The case dealership doesn't have any idea because there books don't show size. I need to know in order to fabricate a new grubber.

Like the other post suggested mike the part of the pin that isn't worn and simply make new ones the same size. If the bushings are worn oversize and you don't want to replace the pins without replacing them, mike the bushings at several points, in case their out of round, and make the new pin about .010 smaller than the smallest measurement.

Thanks- I will use a micrometer on the pins, however the pins are not so bad. They are original I think. The bucket is not however the original. I was trying to get someone who might know the original factory specs on the pins. I will measure and then build the grubber here at home and take it to the ranch when finished. thank again for the advice.
