I'm looking at buying a 450C. You can press the pedal to the floor and can't feel the engine clutch working. You can shift 1-4 gears if your quick with it and the engine RPM is slow. You have to turn off the tractor to shift it if it gets between gears. The top half of the travel works the HLR ok. The pedal feels the same at the bottom of travel as it does at the top 4" of travel. The HLR shifts to hard without using the pedal. I know it needs adjusting. The guy that has the tractor uses the clutch pedal for the HLR most of the time. What could be wrong with the engine clutch?
Something stuck or broke or just need adjusting.
Thanks,
David Edwards

That top of the pedal shuts off oil...Go past that and the engine clutch should disconnect...Mash 'er into the floorboards...

may not be anything wrong- You don't shift the gears like a car. I have to be careful if mine is between 2nd and 3rd which is the neutral position. You are supposed to pick a gear range and then use the HLR to shift with. I admit that I also use the clutch pedal when going from forward to reverse, however the proper way is to use the HLR shift without clutching. If the machine moves with the clutch engaged and stops with the pedal pressed down I would say that the operation was correct.
others on this forum are MUCH better informed on these machines than I and will correct me if I have spoken incorrectly.
