I am looking for a working hydraulic pump for my 170 skid steer. I have the model with the splined shaft. Does anyone have an original in working condition?
Thanks

Have any numbers, etc.? Isn't that the same as a 1530 Case? I do have a pump from the Case- will check numbers. Mounts on a belt-driven gearbox, Wisconsin engine, 30 hp.

It is a Eaton Cessna 24300.52 gear driven pump (at least I think those are the right numbers). The JD 170 is a direct drive gear box directly from the output shaft from the engine. The drive belt comes out of the right side of the gear box and this gear driven pump comes out of the left (if looking from front to back). Loader originally had a Wisconsing VG4D which is 37HP, but I popped in a Wisconsin V465D which is 65HP. I took this item apart and the part that I have damaged is the output shaft of the pump which is bably worn - also gotta check how much damaged there is to the gear box. This has a splined end and not the keyed end.

Thanks

Sounds like mine regarding the drive. The belt on the 1530 drives from the gearbox through a VS sheave to the finals. Yes, the box bolted to the engine, pump on one output, VS on the opposite side. I replaced the pump with another, seem to remember that there was some minor damage or twist to the splined shaft. Pump spline is internal and slips on a splined shaft? Your location?

Just checked the actual parts- visual is better than memory. Pump is a Chelsea 976. Other numbers PO 45AA205-2. 913760. Casting number 800-241 (G?). Pump shaft is external spline, 13 splines, mic's at .865. Gearbox was from Hub City, (Safe Guard), Aberdeen, SD. Casting number MO EL 66-600. The splined shaft on pump is good, internal splines on mating part were getting bad, that's why I replaced it- found a gearbox and pump at Ter Hark & Eiklenborg Salvage in Applington, IA. 1-319-347-2881. Gears wore out on original box when oil seeped out, replacements were almost $500, about ten years ago. I have the box w/o shafts and gears, plus the pump. Can send pix.

My pump is a Eaton Cessna. I am not able to tell who made the gear box for the plate is worn - it is still in the loader. Can I ask what you found the pump and gearbox for at the salvage? Might be worth me getting a salavge and taking the parts I need out of that. At this point, the Eaton Cessna pump and the gear shaft are what I need.

Without checking my financial records, which would be somewhere in the 90s, I think I bought the salvage skidloader for $600, and for some reason that I don't remember, I could not use it all, and they were nice enough to take a return, minus the gearbox and pump, which I put into the 1530. I did the transport, 5 hours each way, each time- maybe 2-300 for the box and pump? They were going through a family change of ownership- one generation to another-nice folks to deal with, I felt fortunate that they were so accomodating with MY change of plans. Regarding your gearbox and plate-most of the numbers on my plate are scuffed, but the casting numbers are visible on one side when you get it out of the machine. Until then, you might not know just what you have. Ratio on mine is 1:1., but that's just the gears. Chances are you have the same box, similar pump, since the 170 and 1530 are basically the same machine.
