I am restoring a 1954 TD-9, I was wondering where I might purchase some new grease seals for the front idlers, I also need some new bulbs to fit original type headlights. In my manual it calls for 140 wt. oil for the idlers and rollers, is this a must or can you use a good grade grease. Thanks Eddie Olive.

When I was younger I did a fair amount of track bottom work. I believe your machine came through with "Rotary seals" very expensive, and would leak at the first sign of bearing wear.
At that time you could go to a "cat style" replacement seal made by BERCO for the 92 series Int.
Can't remember for sure but maybe same as early td8.
stopped doing this work in early eighties, I could be wrong

After seeing the price on the seals.. Perhaps it is worth going to a bearing house, to get a match up ??? As a rule, seals and bearings are cheap at the bearing houses.. I once needed a bearing, the dealer quoted 45 dollars, but it was not in stock.. I went down the road and got one for 4 dollars...

I appreceiate the information on the front seals I will give them a call. The number on my headlight bulbs is 2320 Tungsol 32210 and has what looks like 8 volts. I would like to find them in 12 volts if possible. Thanks Eddie Olive

NAPA should have the bulbs, yes you need 140 oil, grease does not circulate. I believe 85-140 is what you will find easier.

I have contacted NAPA and they were not able to find the right bulbs. I figured circulation was probably the reason for using 140 wt. oil opposed to grease. If anyone knows where I might find some new seals for the front idlers, would be a great help. Thanks Eddie Olive
