I have a 90' model D20 with a freshly rebuilt motor and the thing bogs under load.(more than usual) I will barely go reverse uphill...???
I'm thinking it's either air in the fuel line or more likely some in the hydraulic system.

Any ideas what i can try?

Check the hydraulic system. Perhaps the charging line is collapsing on itself, the pump could have blockages, a shortage of hydraulic oil, bad hydraulic oil, busted seals or o rings etc getting into lines and clogging them, blocked pick up screens. Start with the big things like the pump and the lines first then start picking it apart.

Check to make sure that there is no place the engine could be sucking dust. I know a mechanic that rebuilt an engine once , but didn't plug the hole that went to the air filter indicator.(Usually a 1/8 pipe hole with some plastic tubing that goes to an indicator to show when the filter is plugged.)Of course this would be rapid wear on any engine in a dusty environment. I don't think your hydraulic system comes into the picture on the D20. The standard transmission is all mechanical, with the exception of the hyd. declutch to disenguage the track when turning. Is there any smoke when it bogs? Air in your fuel line should give you low power all the time and a rough running engine. Also, make sure the air cleaner isn't plugged. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice!, Air cleaner not clogged, low power all the time, but engine does not run rough? when i first bought the machine i could put the cornner of the blade on a tree and tilt it, (almost perpindicularwith machine) it would move the dozer sideways. Now when i try it it just bogs down and won't move either the tree or dozer...?

The problem could be anything, I took it to the Komastu dealer in springdale arkansas and the first time i got it back half the bolts were loose on the engine, it;s been back 3-4 times since just to fix the things they forgot. I'm just tierd of dealing with them and want to fix it myself.

Thanks again!

Are you sure your steering brakes aren't stuck engaged around your clutch hub? With the seat off do you see when you pull the steering lever if your brake arm moves back off position? Check that as this would make the machine BOG BIGTIME. :)

K, did some troubleshooting yesterday, and problem is definetly a fuel problem. It's getting either way too much or is way too retarded? anyone know how to adjust the injector pump on this thing?

thanks!
