I would like to use a tach on my 440B skidder and 350 dozer for adjusting new injection pump and winch adjustments etc.. Where is tach driven from on these engines? The other option I'm thinking of is tagging a spot on the flywheel, through the timing pin port and using a digital. Any feedback welcome.

You can always drill a hole in the flywheel housing and use a tach that "triggers" off of the ring gear.

Rob: my tach is driven by a mechical drive cable taken from the back of the motor at the cam shaft
on my 450-b
