Crawler drives forward and reverse at initial start up but after a few minutes won't drive in either direction after jercking for a short time. Shut it off and restart and it will drive again for a few minutes. Anybody got any ideas on this?

Thanks WaltMo for the info on the suction screen and filter. Do you know where the reverser oil level is supposed to read at on the dip tube? We have no operators manual. Down at the bottom there appears to be a grove in the tube about a half or three quarters of an inch up from bottom. is this the level? thanks.

Old Yeller,
There is a screen on the suction side and a filter on the pressure side of the pump for the reverser. I just had to replace both of these on my MF 200B. The Screen is on a plate bolted to the left side of the reverser. This plate has to be removed to clean the screen. This plate can be accessed from under the machine after removing a metal tube from it. The filter is on the right side of the reverser and has to be replaced with a spin on filter. This filter has about 175 psi on it. This is the pressure for the clucthes in the reverser. You might be able to put a gage in this line to check the pressure to see what is happening when if fails. hth

I think fluid level is ok. We don"t have an operators manual, oil is up on the reverser dip stick about an inch. Could it be the hydraulic coupling or the suction screen in the sump? When it goes it will push and drive just fine until it feels like something hydraulic falls off then stops. /Thank"s for your help.

I think the oil shuttles are prone to leaking, but not really sure if that's your problem.
I spoke to a USA company once, who knew the MF machines well...St Joseph Equipment.Try them.
I have parts for 2244 drotts here.
