Has anyone out there had any luck getting Deere 450-C loader cylinders apart without ruining the barrels and rod guides..I've got 2 virgin cylinders off the machine and as usual having a terrible time getting them apart..I've heated the barrels and the threads are just junk..I've welded steel a "handle" onto the rod guide and used a 310 backhoe to try and twist the rod guide out.. Bent the 1-1/2" bar that was placed between the dual rears of my service truck..Nearly raised the truck off the ground.. Man , what a nickels worth of neverseize would have done to make this job a lot easier.. $ 375.00 for the barrels each, and another $ 195.00 for the rod guides each.. Plus packing kits with the upgraded piston...If anyone has any suggestions feel free to clue me in..Thanks

Roy.. worked at a hydraulic shop for years, we cut the barrel lenthwise ( right angle to the threads ) with a cutoff tool to relieve the pressure and reweld and chase the threads after.
saves a lot of time. Just have to find a machine shop that can rethread.

I've had all the cylinders on a 450C apart (using a special wrench that fits the notches on the rod guide) without too much trouble, but I had a horrible time with the bucket cylinder on a JD544B - we left it attached to the loader to hold it, and used TWO rosebud torches to heat it cherry red and used an eight foot cheater bar on the wrench... it bent the bar, and the wrench, but it did finally come loose... I was worried that we had wrecked it, but, we put a new kit in it and put it back together... that was ten years ago and the cylinder is still working today.
I agree 100% that a dab of NeverSeeze applied at the factory would have been a good thing.
Good luck,
