Which oil weight for what season?

I run 15-40 in all my diesel engines year 'round. Is there a better weight or different kind of oil recommended for spring/summer and fall/winter?

Also, what is the deal with this low sulphur diesel and pump problems? My seals recently pooched on my cav rotary pump for my perkins and I was wondering if that might have had anything to do with it? (Probably just age but ya never know!) What would be a good fuel additive to increase lubricity for the fuel?

I've found that a multigrade oil in the summer has a tendency to show fluxuations in oil pressure..It won't hurt a bit to use 30 wt oil in the summer.. I often use fuel system conditioner in the trucks and equipment at my workplace..We haven't had any fuel system failures in the last 10 years..I've been contemplating using a dose of say, 2 to 3 ounces of concentrated oil [ chainsaw oil ] to add lubricity to the fuel at every full fill-up..Especially with the newer emission standards that are taking more lube out of the fuel..
