The left steering lever on my JD 350 crawler appears linked to the brake pedal. When I step on the brake pedal it locks the left steer lever. I freed up the yoke and rod going to the steering cluthch housing, but the lever still sticks.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
CR

You've got a shaft that frozen in a yoke - it's a very common problem with 350s. You can try heating it, and at the same time - hold your foot down - HARD - on the brake pedal, and at the same time, try to force the steering lever back and forth.

Thank you, for your input. Where is it frozen? At the brake pedal linkage or in the steering clutch housing? CR

Inside the steering-clutch housing. It is the right on top, easy to see and heat with a torch. A shaft passes through the inside of a cast-iron yoke (one is for steering, one for brake). They get rusted together - thus your problem.

Yep. The clutch and brake share a shaft in the final drive housing. Pull the covers of your left and right housings and you'll see how the left moves differently and where it needs freeing and lubrication.
