Cat D3B track rollers needed

Anyone know where I can get a set of used or aftermarket track rollers for a Car D3B 27Y machine for a good price. I am looking to buy a D3B but the rollers are shot. The ones on the dozer now are hitting the track pin bosses. I probably will only put 100 or 200 hours on the machine a year so the rollers do not need to much life left in them.

Thanks, Greg

Are the track pin bosses worn down too? How about the tensioning unit?

I don't hve the D3 yet, just checking what I need to get it back in shape.

The pin bosses are worn some from the rollers hitting them. I'll have to check the tensioner. I was told that if I put on new rollers I should put on new rails also because they are worn rounded. The sprocket has been recently replaced so it is in good shape.

At $128 per roller and $1300 per rail it is getting pricey. I was also told that the track shoes are worn and probably should be replaced. The shoes are worn where they overlap, not just the grouser bars.

At this rate I might just check the pins and run it as it is for a while and do it all at once. I just don't want to do any damage to anything I will not have to replace.

What are the pros and cons for double flanged rollers? How many? Where to place?

Thanks for your help,
Greg

$128 for rollers is cheap. Up here they're over $200 a piece. Double flange rollers guide the tracks better but Cat often uses both single and double flange together. Closest roller to sprocket I think has to be a single flange for sprocket clearance but not positve. I haven't looked at mine for a while. If you only use the machine occasionally, it might last a long time the way it is. Ideally the idlers and top carrier rollers should also be checked for wear and everything replaced as a set depending on amount of wear. Even though the sprockets were replaced the worn rails will wear them funny and they will in turn wear new rails if used for a while. I'm just going to run my machine until the tracks are shot and won't tighten enough to stay on. One dealer said my bushings are probably worn internally so turning them would be a waste of money. He also said they could last for a 1000 hours or more, so just run it as long as you can and then replace everything. Undercarriage isn't cheap. Good luck. Dave
