Bought dozer and one hydro is weaker than the other also when pushing pedal on weak side pressure drops. What is my next move I know a rebuilt hydro is pricey. The Transmission got warm after about 2 hours of heavy pushing. Junk it fix it what should I do. Anyone know where I can find cheap rebuilt hydro. Could it be something else.

Sir
You may also have a radiator which is in bad need of cleaning. The bottom of the radiator is what cools the tranmission. Mine was plugged up and after pushing for a couple of hours would get hot and oil pressure would go down. Removed radiator, had cleaned and back in buisness.

Roy's memory is correct..the dash guage reads the lower of the 2 charge pump pressures.. Theres a valve between both transmissions that accomplishes that- sends the lower pressure up to the brake valve and then to the dash guage. - These are really tough to diagnose "over the internet"... When you say one side is weak...do you push into a pile and one track slows and keeps turning and the other stalls? Is it mistracking just travelling with no load? You never know who's been in there over the years altering linkage and turning screws in the displacement control valves trying to get it to track straight...but start where Roy stated...cut open the filters and see whats in there...

Take off both trans filters and cut them apart..You might find brass and steel there...Thats a bad thing.. If I'm not sadly mistaken , the dash gauge reads the lowest pressure of the 2 transmissions..Jonathan can you check this ?? I don't have a tech manual on this unit , and it's been about 15 years since I've worked on these morphadites..If you check a publication called " Rock and Dirt " , I remember a couple of companies advertising rebuilt hydrostatic transmissions there ..It won't be cheap....Usually the rotating group in the pump or motor self destruct on these units..Very costly to fix..Not bad to change..
