Just curious, does anybody have an idea what a 450c parts machine is worth? I am looking at machine with a , worn out u/c , blade is shot . It does however have a good engine, and good working hlr transmission (recently gone through). any ideas? The machine I have functions fine, but it does have about 7500hrs, don't know when those 2 key items may come in handy. Thanks. (Just trying to think ahead a little)

Yes, it is a calculated risk. How much do you spend on something you haven't torn apart yourself? Not going to spend a lot of money I don't have, but, a couple, or more of the key items do work, so I think a couple of thousand for a machine that still has some life may be a good risk??? (Mainly worried about my HLR going out someday, and having to come up with 5000.

So , just for giggles you spend 6 grand on this old dozer..Yeah the trans has been rebuilt..By who?? "Joe Farmer"??..Has everything that needed to be replaced get replaced , or just patched up..Whats to say the engine doesn't bail out when you start to use it...Happens everyday..Good Luck...

Does the guy that owns the 450 have a clue what it's worth ?? Does he have a figure in mind ?? If you went to a dozer grave yard and bought an engine , I bet you're looking at 2 grand or better.. I'm thinking 3000 or 3500.. This way you have final drives , clutch housing , track frames , crossbars and tin ,[ if not all mangled up]..

One mans opinion.. I buy and sell salvage for a living for 32 years. If it is truly a c model machine the 3/4 grand is cheap the 7500.00 on the high . Just saw one a auction about as you
described AND they did not start the machine
bring $ 5,400.00 so I,m thinking at last 6thousand and the fellow at $ 7,500 may not be far off.

Yes, it is a c model, I'm thinking about offering him 2000 for it, ( I don't think he is planning on fixing it) and maybe a few weeks of "rental" of my machine, ,, We'll see what happens, Thanks for the info, and to everyone that posts replies!!
