Hi all,
Was dozing happily today when all of a sudden the machine cut out, I think it's electric in nature, not a slow stall but as if I shut the key off shut down. It did it once where it actually caught back on before stalling all the way. I shut the key off, take the key out, put key back in and she started up again. One time it did not, but after a minute I put key back in again and she started. I think it's electricaly because my guages go dead also. Any thoughts on where to begin.
Thanks ahead of time.
Joel

There's a circuit breaker inside the dashboard that might be going bad..Check for loose wiring in there also..Pull the hood and look over the connections on the plug ins and the 3 screw down terminals..

Was a loose wire under the seat, was shorting to the frame, found it, taped it off and all is well. Machine runs super strong. Thanks again.

Hey Roy, Thanks for the super quick response. Will pull the hood tomorrow. I am hoping you'd say something relatively straightforward like that, rather than pull out the ohm meter and check the resistance between something and something else, etc. One thing I struggle with is electronics.
I have the manual and looked at the connections you referenced, I'll go through them all tomorrow. Again Roy, thanks. PS> Took a couple more small trees down today, not sure if you saw my prior picture posted, this time I only hit my truck and trailer with a tree, instead of the Dozer. I'll get this tree fellin stuff sorted out sooner or later.

I've been fellin' trees for about 30 plus years..At my stepsons neighbor , I took down some nice Locust trees down..All leanin' the wrong way..On the third tree , notched the near side and cut lightly on the far side..Heard a cracking noise , ran for the rope and pulled my cuyones off trying to get the tree to miss the neighbors other fence...Just swiped the fence and broke one small corner off a board..The woman came out and came unglued..Sorta like I violated her pet hermit crab..I told her I'd get another board from Home Depot..I went back that evening with some weather proof glue and secured that small piece of board..I don't think she will be able to find the broken board..My wife couldn't find it..I got her the board so her husband can change it [ providing he can find it ] ..Reason I didn't change it , existing board was stained not painted..He didn't know what color it was...Hey , he's got a spare just incase his war department insists he change it...

Hey Roy, Thanks for the note, people are funny. She probably never gave a thought about saying something like, hey, glad no one got hurt, or, hey I appreciate your taking care of the problem. You wonder what they'd do if they had a real problem. Roy, you've been and continue to be a huge asset to this forum, and probably other forums for all i Know. I'm tempted to start a thread on the need for succession planning for you and demaris. Without you two, a lot of us Deere guys would be stuck. Violating a hermit crab, never heard that one before, made me laugh. If applicable, hope you have a great father's day. Sincerely, Joel
