I looked at a Cat 933 G front loader last nite. I am confused about the shuttle shift.
The guy tells me that you have to use the clutch and the shuttle arms together. Does that make sense? Also how hard are the steering clutches to adjust and replace?

The 933G is not a shuttle shift but a manual gearbox with a direction gear, you would select a gear with the main gearshift lever and go from forward to reverse using the F/R lever, each time you change direction you have to disengage the main engine clutch and move the F/R lever, the 933 is not an easy machine to work on as the loader frame is encasing most of the machine, the brakes and steering clutches can be adjusted from the outside, the final drives have to be removed to get to the steering clutch packs, the brakes can be replaced through service holes in the housing, all round a good loader.

I think what he was telling you is that you have to PUSH the clutch lever fordward to engage the master clutch stop break. You cannot shift if the tractor is moving. the clutches and brakes are not to hard to adjust, but they are rough to replace.
