I have a jcb serial #(14bt4110 3609 14-7) 1400b back hoe it has the spin on filter so it should be a zf tranny and not the borg W.... the manual says to use jcb special oil or international specification (ESP-M2-33g).... I have been told to use mercon 3, ford type F or FA, 10 Wt. hydrolic oil, 10 wt tractor fluid, and 10 wt motor oil....almost every dealer I contact gives me a different answer.when i contact my oil dist None of these cross with the International specificatiuon given in the manual according to my oil dealer and he does not have a cross for it.. I am starting to think it doesnt matter what oil is used becuse so many different dealers use different oils but I would like to use the correct fluid that it was designed for or the modern equivalent but cant find it .. Can some one HELP me here.. Thanks IN ADvance... The nearest dealer to get the fluid is over 700 miles away and it is cost prohibitive to ship... Dj

AJK

I did find the tqf oil mention in the castrol site you sent me to and read up on transmission oil

Link

a 20 page summary (I did a google search for tqf oil)... the main differnts in the oils is there are no friction modifiers in the oil for this type of transmision and the tqf castrol does meet the international specs (M2C 33g) given for the machine.... a more common fluid that meets the specs is ford type f or fa transmision fluid.. I really feel sorry for all the people that use something else in this machine as according to what i have read it cause premature wear and slippage in the clutch packs causiing loss of life

Any one interested should read this link it is quite informative AJK thank you much for steering me in the right direction

Have a look at the Castrol site at the link below, when the page opens you may have to click on click here to renew, when the new page opens type in JCB 1400B in the model search box and click go,when the page opens it gives two options the bottom of the two should cover yours,JCB oil is a right P.I.A there are so many models.
