I have a John Deere Skidsteer model 24 deisel yes it is a older one but works great until know. The engine now when running for no reason what so ever just screams over revs have to shut down right away or it will blow, then you can start it up and it will be fine for about 5 to 10 minutes and starts all over again. Had a guy from john deere look at it, said he was a mechanic, all he did was scratch his head no answer what so ever. Right before it is going to start over reving it does blow out a lot of smoke like it getting to much fuel then it just screams don't know how far it will go before it blows. Any sugestion? It does have a 4 cyl. Izuzu engine in it. Thanks for reading.

I'm no expert buy it sounds like you have some governor pins getting loose. I would say it needs to be looked at.

Can you tell me where the pins are located and how you can tighten them up? Is the govenor inside the engine or the injection pump. Thanks for the info.
