A few days ago while doing some light grading the reverser output shaft bearing or the transmission input shaft bearing started making noise in reverse. As soon as I was on a suitable piece on ground I shut it down. The next day I fire it up and all was quite until things warmed up a now it makes noise in both forward and reverse moving and with the transmission in neutral. It sounds like your coffee grinder, the nois is RPM sensitive. I've had the engine and reverser out twice in the past but never had the pleasure of working on the transmission. Question is, is it possible to change out the trans. input bearing and maybe the inner roller bearings in the frame or do I have to pull the final drives as the manual would have it. I know after I get a lifting frame built I can have the reverser out in 5 hours and check it. So I was hoping if need be, to take front and the top covers off the trans. and lift the shaft out from there. Any and all assistance will be greatly appreciated.
Thank You
Cloid

The input shaft of the gearbox is the first to come out and the last to put back in..It comes out the shifter cover hole after you remove the shifter cover and front quill..They say .002 to .004 endplay.. I like 0 endplay no preload...
