I have a friend that has a JD 310C back hoe serial number 738465, he started it up to go to work and everything worked, except the hoe wouldn't raise. We took the valve body apart and found the spool was stuck. We got it out and honed it, but it still won't work. This makes the second time this has done this, we honed it the first time and it worked for two years, now it's right back to where it was before. Has anybody had this kind of problem? Do any of you know where I can get a valve body new or used? We have checked with the local JD dealer and he wasn't much help, couldn't find one he said, that sucks when a dealer can't or I should say won't find one. I'm in a bind everybody he's in the middle of a big job and needs his hoe. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks ahead of time.

A good hydraulic repair shop should be able to help you. A good machine shop can also make you a new spool,or polish it for you, we have had it done many times. It might be made by Greason, you can find them on the WEB and match it.

I suggest you find another dealer..There's no reason they can't get you a valve section for a C model machine..
