I just recently bought a Fiat Allis 645B loader. Soon after I got it, it wasn"t digging good and I couldn"t spin the tires and it was hard to get a full bucket. I checked the filter and it was full of metal and a pasty grey compound. I found metal pieces in the bottom of the transmission that were all the same shape and size and they looked like they came from a freewheel roller cage. Has anyone had any experiences with an Allison TT2421-1 transmission. I have thought about selling it as is but then again it could be something minor. Is it hard getting parts for these? How long does it take to get the transmission out? What typically goes on these transmissions? Any estimate on what it will cost me? Thanks, Mark

If it's contaminated as bad as you say sell it. A rebuild on one of them cost around $15,000 25 yrs ago. Those wheel loaders where not that durable.
