Could you tell me the name of a valve on a Deere 490-E ?? If you open up the compartment directly behind the cab , where the air cleaner is...If you take out the tray under the air cleaner and look straight in , there is an aluminum valve with 3 or 4 solenoids sticking straight out at you. This valve is attached to the uprights where the boom main lower pin bosses go thru..This valve is located behind the rotary manifold..There is an identical valve mounted across the frame from the one in question. There are 90 degree fittings on the bottom of the valve [17 mm on the hose fitting flats ]. The hoses appear to be pilot size hoses.I need to know what the heck the valve is named so I can get a fitting or o-ring for the fitting..

Go to JD parts online and do a "where used" search for 4276904. Is this the valve you are referencing?
The 490E was made by Hitachi and the comparable Hitachi model was the EX120-2 or -3. Deere decided not to change model numbers and instead relied on S/N breaks with the early S/Ns similar to the -2s and late to the -3s.
On all Hitachi and Deere branded units, the ports that are in the components are JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) and are based on the British Pipe Parallel Standard. The adaptor fittings screwed into the components are JIS to 37 deg. JIC (our stuff)
I am currently the Hitachi Mining rep. In a previous life, I had the contractor size as well.

A photo would help for if it was added by a dealer then who knows what ports sizes and threads were used.

Don't know what the valve is called but it shouldn't matter. Don't know which O ring you need, but based on what your saying it sounds like your looking for either a ORFS oring (O-ring face seal fitting, goes in the fitting and seals between the face of the line and the fitting. Don't know if the Deeres are using these but several other mfgs have jumped on the band wagon since CAT started using them) or an O-ring boss fitting (on a 90 fitting it's under the nut and seals between the fitting and the block) The size of the hex doesn't mean much since the different mfgs tend to use a couple of different sizes. Still being a 17MM hex and a pilot line your most likely looking at a #4 or at most a #6 size line. Any hydraulic shop or Deere should be able to get you the rings for both sizes without needing to know what the valve is called. If they can't their worthless as parts people....but that wouldn't suprise me. Good luck.

Look at the pilot line section of the hyd system. A book would be faster to find it in than a computer.
