OK, 66a1230 is a good number and yes, I have the service and parts manuals. Basic adjustment seems pretty easy but man is it an elaborate operating system and set up.
Adjustment:
Tighten down rear screw until band is tight and back off 1-1/2 turns.
That's it.

well thank you very much! that doesnt sound too hard. Ive been a mechanic for quite some time but have next to no caterpillar experience, or information whatsoever. My time was put in with a different color! JD Green!! Thanks again for the info!!

i believe the serial # is 66a1230 it is located on the dash, on the dealer sticker but i was told the factory serial number plate is supposed to be on the back of the crawler? ...which is covered by the weight box!!
