Again I am on the cutting edge of technology (HA).

I have 75 gallons of Hyd fluid from past systems oil changes that I would like to recycle by burning in my diesel tractors.

OM, I read on another board your comment about one individual inserting a breather hose into the Hyd resivor... Got me thinking...

Asuming that the hyd oil is clear/clean, any comments on how to, or how much, hyd oil to mix w/the diesel fuel to have it burn in the diesel systems???

Again, doing my part to add to global warming and cooling...sl

My Cat fuels manual recommends no more than 5% used oil.
Premix oil 50-50 with clean fuel before adding to tank.
Do not use oil from failed engines or oil that is contaminated with water or coolant
Filter or centrifuge before using.
Expect possible shortened filter life and engine life due to deposits.

Also in big letters "WARNING"
DO NOT USE CRANKCASE OILS FROM GASOLINE ENGINES OR OILS LABELED SPECIFICALLY AS TRANSMISSION OR HYDRAULIC OIL.

Up to 20% will work depending on the motor. I'd start with about 5%, work your way up depending on how it runs. Get the best filter you can find like 2 - 5 microns and run it thru that a couple of times first. Expect smoke, and harder starting, thats usually why i stop at 20%, it will run at a higher % IF you can get it to start. Careful in winter as the oil mix is thicker.
