in 998 I loaned my 1 ton ford welding truck to a frind so he coud use th edifferential until he coud aford to buy on. I found my weldr, minus the truck this past Sunday, I Brought it home. It has sat in a horse pasture most of the past 9 years. it is a 35o amp lincoln with a 6 cyl contional F227 6 cyl engine. I believe I can get the engine to run. but it is going to need one of the reostats. the one where you set the rod position and extr large or extra small rods. any bod know of a junked out one? I am in GA.

It's probably an SAE 300 or possibly SAE400 which the later is still made. I would talk to any electrical or welder repair dealers as it shouldn't be too hard to find one. A lot of shops have gone away from the generators to save on power costs and shops that use them for gouging sometimes burn them up but a lot of parts should still be good. Dave

If nothing turns up here, try the welding (welders?) forum on smokstak.com. Good luck.
