Hydraulic fitting question: JIC or SAE?

I need to replace some hoses on my old TD340. The current hoses have swivels on the ends that mate with tube fittings on tubes coming out of the cylinders. Would like to order online and save money. Is it safe to assume that these are JIC fittings (37 degrees) and not SAE 45 degreee fittings. Threads are the same on both, but not sure whether SAE 45 was used on older construction equipment.

Hes right. 45o is used in gas lines and alike. I never heard of 45o on these hydraulic lines. We just changed all our hoses on IH 2500. They were 5/8" JIC. Yours are prob same (JIC). BUT I would recomend getting ONE fitting local to be certain it fits, then order rest. Or you could end up with 300$ or so in hoses and then need adaptors to not be out your cash!

Like I said we just went through this ourselves. Napa was useless they made on line for us, but got parts out of bins and didnt knwo what they used! At near 70$ a hose thats rediculous! TSC had the hoses for like $15 a piece some were $20. Whatever you do DONT go to napa haha.

As far as I know the 45 degree fittings were never used in hydraulic systems so they ought to be standard 37 degree JIC fittings.
