D3B clutch not engaging

I worked on the left steering valve as it was leaking. Now the left clutch is disengaging, but there still is no power on the right side. I've opened the cover on the right clutch and noticed that the clutch does not engage, it appears that the yoke is opened and does not retract. If the clutch cylinder stays stuck open, then the clutch wouldn't engage. This may be my problem. My question is, what forces the yoke in to activate the clutch. The clutch cylinder only deactivates the clutch, so what actually forces the clutch to engage????

check the valve first, when the pressuer drops the clutch should enguae, I ahve seen clutches hang because the disc han inside the brake drum.but alwaus eliminate the simple things first.

If the discs were hanging inside the drum, would I be able to see this? I did start my dozer and I can see the clutch turning, but it doesn't appear to be going in far enough to engage.

Springs engage the clutch

Could the clutch cylinder not retracting prevent the clutch from engaging or would it be more likely to have broken springs?

Terry, loosen the steel line to the cyl and make sure no oil is trapped in it. The pistons should be out of the cyl about the same amount when there is no pressure to them. If you have dry clutches maybe the fiber discs have the teeth ripped off them.
