I bought a 51u367 has a 1160 moter I see the piviot by the cab was weld repaired but seems to be holding OK. When I was driving uphill it seemed to bogdown without the engine tring to rev up. I've never run any more back hoe than my ditchwitch. I would like to know more about this machine.Shawn

Thanks Bob It is the glass filter thats JD, it also has a spin on thats CAT. The destroking of the pump I dont understand. Is this to bring the RPM of the engine back up like when I was going uphill? I had throttle as far as I could pull it back but it only goes back half way in the slot. And instead of the govener trying to throttle the engine up as the load increased the engine just seemed to slow down under load.

Weld repairs that are done by competent welders are nothing to worry about, you should check your machine over to make sure there is oil in all the components, service the engine and fuel system so you will know where you stand,a dirty fuel filter can be the cause of the engine bogging down under pressure, that a heavy machine and it takes a lot of power to propel it up hill so the fuel system clean is a must,Good luck with your investment.

Thanks AKA. The welds do look good no new cracks, and not new welds they are rusted over. I see a johndeere fuel filter if it fits OK does it matter.

Shawn, if you are talking about the glass water seperator they are the same, just be carefull of spin on filters they have to seal right at the center. You need to run at full throttle the Underspeed Valve will destroke pumps to maintain engine speed when higher pressure is needed.
