Considering the purchase of a td-15. 6 cyl diesel, manual shift, hand clutch, 4 way blade. Plan on using it to cut roads and clear some ground on hunting property I own. Maybe 5 to 10 hrs a week usage. Any Input? Are parts and manuals available?

Well Bob, I am now the owner, proud may come later, of a TD-15B, I think. Still looking for all of the numbers. Where should I find them? Planning on having the machine moved to my Machine Shop soon. First action will be to steam the engine , change oil and filters . One of the pins, possibly master link, has backed out about 1". Working on getting things realigned and driving pin back, any suggestions?

Which model TD-15. Is it the old series gas start go to diesel, or the later 15 with the 366 or 466 engine direct start. The later ones are the TD-15Bs and up. I have an older TD-15 151 series, gas start and switch to diesel which I would avoid because parts are getting scarce. The td-15b is a much better machine and has a good work history and many parts out there for them.I am assuming what you are looking at is the 151 series because the 15Bs have power shift. Will wait for your answer before making additional comments.

Bob, It is a direct start diesel. Also found out that it has hydraulic assist on steering. Still looking for ser#. It has the hydraulic track adjustment. Local operator has a 15c and he was thinking it may be a 70"s model, does this seem close?

All the 15 series has Hyd assist steering, even mine. All the B series and on has a turboed engine( I think) The early Bs had a DT361, good engine, then I think to a DT407, and then to the DT466. All good engines and plenty of parts available. These engines were used in Farm Equiptment and no parts or rebuild problems. I don't know when the Hdy track tighteners came along weather on the Bs or later. The expense factor is the undercarriage, pins, bushings, rails, and sprocket condition and % of wear. Have your local 15C friend look it over good. The later 15s are good machines and hold up well. There are several guys in the Red Power Constuction forum who own the and could give you good info. . Check out Red Power, a wealth oh IH dozer info there Bob Ohio AC HD21A's and a TD 15

Bob, Thanks for the input, does have a turbo, sprockets are about 7/8 " wide at the top of tooth, so I think I have wear left. Seems like there is plenty of adjustment room left with the track, best guess is 50 to 60 percent left in the uc.
