I am looking to change the transmission oil in my 59 t-340 international. I believe the oil also runs the blade that is mounted on the front. My question is are there more than one drain plug on the bottom to drain the system with just one filler to fill the system again.
Also is it a big deal to change the transmission filter.what would the capacity of new fluid be.
Thanks in advance

A word of warning baler, if you are changing the oil to try to get rid of water contamination, there is lots of water stuck in all the components (cylinders, valves, etc.). If your experience is like mine, after a couple hours of use, the hydraulic/transmission oil is milky again with water that has moved out of all the reservoirs. Good luck.

thanks for the advice Ray.
What do you recommend for motor oil
in the engine. is today's oil ok.
10w-30 etc. I know the owners manual
makes it sound complicated.

There are 3 drains, 2 in the transmission and one further forward between the hydraulic pump and filter Takes 46 quarts of Hy-Tran added through a single filler hole located forward and right of the shifter

There are two or three drain plugs; just look along the bottom center of the transmission case. No single one does the trick. As I recall, the capacity is 46 quarts. Hi-tran is the correct oil. The filter needs to be changed fairly often. It's on the right side, exactly opposite where the pump is located on the left side (where the main hose starts out). Take off the plate, and you'll have either a one piece screen and filter combo, or a reusable screen with two replaceable filter elements. The latter are NAPA 1149 if I remember correctly. Easy to find. Whenever the hydraulics get sluggish, the first thing to do is replace the filter.
