Want to get an older mini rubber tracked excavator. 10,000 lbs and under. Any pros cons makes etc.

They're about all the same..They're all fine till something breaks..Watch out for "The Deal of the Century" machine..It mught be "Gray Iron" which means it was not intended to be sold in the United States..Many times they have odd ball hoses and fittings , don't have the necessary safety equipment thats required on machines sold here..Many times a dealer of any specific brand won't order parts for you , because it's an unapproved machine to be sold here.. Take wrenches and metric allen wrenches with you when you go to look at machines..I'd check final drives for the presence of metallic oil , indicating a costly failure there..With the machine running give it a little down pressure with the bucket to check for looseness in the roteck bearing[ main swing bearing]..Do the hydraulics operate correctly or is there a problem with the way it operates..
