Hey all, First I hope everyone is enjoying their labour day weekend. Now I have a question. My father and i have a john deere 350 dozer and the steering clutch steel plates are badly corroded (dozer sat for 15+ years in the weather with inspection plates loose). Are the steel plates any special steel or hardness. I am interested in fabricating some of my own as I am a tool and die maker and have access to all the equipment and can get steel fairly cheap. Thanks you all in advance chris

They are made from spring steel and are 0.0900-0.0960 thick. I get $16. each for fiber or steels which ever you need.
