I looked at a parts diagrahm and notices that there is a auxillary transmission cooler with electric fan. My backhoe doesn"t have it. Does anyone know if it"s supposed to have it? Borgwarner synchro shuttle with perkins 4.236.

After running machine bubbling from dipstick and leak from bellhousing. Before i change the seal i wonder if it"s overheating from missing cooler???

thank you

The standard cooler should be adequate unless you are in an awful hot climate, there are two things that can cause the oil to bubble in the BW shuttle, the most common one is a bypass valve sticking, this valve is on the outside of the shuttle see the picture at the link below, the second thing is the pickup oil pipe drawing air,the sump of the shuttle has to come off to access it,you should have a look at the valve if it is stuck it will have blown the front seal but maybe not,so if you can check the valve and try it it may stop leaking,if not its shuttle out, take the four speed box out, then the shuttle, keep both level till they are clear of the units they fit to,I use a floor jack.
Good luck
AJ
