hello guys back when I discoverd my reverser was bad on my t340 dozer, I was in a dillemma, about fixing it, I ended up getting the "parts" tractor going which aside from the bad engine was a better machine,

I think I recall someone saying I could put a regular utility 340 tractor transmission in this machine?? but I wouldnt have the reverser, it would just work as a normal gear box?? is this true, did I hear that or is my mind playing tricks on me again??

I am looking at a 340 tractor that has a bad rear end but motor and tranny seem ok,, can I slap this in my other dozer so I would have one with the blade[non runner at this time} and one with the 4 in 1 drott, which I am actually liking more than I thought I would when I first got it going,,

thanks for the info,pat

third party image my 18 yr old nephew from the burbs,, his first time on the dozer, we ripped down an old hay barn, I had him on most of the machiness, well out of harms way,,he had a ball.

Can't answer your question but I'd invest in a good seat belt for the loader. It looks like if you went over a bump or turned sharp, it could spit you off in a hurry. The seat looks kind of high and not a natural seating position. The last thing you need is for you or your inexperienced nephew to run himself over. Most crawlers you almost sit inside them. I'm not trying to be critical but I know on my Cat that sometimes you can get thrown around pretty good and often it's not expected. Dave

yup you are correct, it should have seat belts but the seat sort of actually wraps around you when seated, I am not sure about a seat belt with out a ROP,, I have installed a seat belt since the picture.. but I have to be honest I dont use it,,

yes the seat is a higher configuration than normal, I had to raise it because of my size, 6'7 and 325,, plus a bum leg that the original seating arrangment would not let me use the machine comfortably for more than a few minutes, I was constantly having to LIFT my leg with my hand ,,to get to the clutch,,,

it is higher , but it is comfortable and makes it safer for me to be on the machine now that I can reach and use all the pedals ,,
