Have re-checked pressure readings at hydraulic control valve.Initial reading at primary test port is 50 psi at fast idle.If I bring throttle up to 3/4 full tractor will begin to move both in fwd and rev.Pressure still remains at 50 psi.Have taken valve body apart and inspected for broken springs, cracked o rings etc everything seems to look good. Also have inspected valve at filter housing. No noticable noise coming from pump.Oil up to level new filter.Where should I go from here? Thanks Jim

Jim,is the pressure you got before the same as the initial pressure? If so there is an orifice the oil has to go through to get behind the load piston and bring you up to full pressure. It may be clogged. Every time you shift pressure drops to initial to fill clutches for smooth engagement then raises to full in about one second or so. Come on back.

Bob,The pressure at the valve is 50psi with the trans in neutral at fast idle. When I shift to 1st gear it will drop to 0 for a second then back to 50psi and remains there.I will check the orifice on the pressure relief valve load piston. This makes sense since the oil filter was pretty chewed up when I replaced it.Thanks again for everything.I'll keep in touch. Jim

Jim, if the filter blew apart the paper would go to the valve next. On a machine that old there could be a lot of debris floating around in it.
