is this even possible nowadays or would a swap like that be too much a pain in the side to even bother?
I'm toying with the notion of picking up a massey ferguson 80 backhoe...because its huge like me...lol.

My father had a friend who welded 3/8" socket type universals to the four controls on his ford BH there by converting them to 2 joysticks. he made his living with this hoe, the guy was amazing to watch!...sl

The way to try the 4 lever system is to tighten the loose linkages up..I've run some loose Fords in my time..And , yes it does seem tedious to operate those 4 levers..But I got used to the 4 lever set-up on my 5500 and later 4500 and I can make em walk and talk..The ones I haven't been able to get used to is Case 3 lever..How do you split up 3 levers with 2 hands and then train your feet to swing that backhoe???

i dont see how it could be faster...mind i'm just a yung buck...but pushing and pulling four levers just plain old seems more effort then shoving two levers around...i can hear how young i am as I type this...lol

Arps made the 4500 kit...I sorta don't think I've ever seen a 2 lever MF..Give the 4 lever setup some time..It might grow on you..Some of the old Ford guys say the 4 lever is faster than 2 lever..

Definately possible. I did my Ford 755 backhoe on my 4500 Industrial. Do a search in the photo section to see it.
