The JD 450-B a fellow gave to me to move from his backyard is back among the living. I stripped it and went through it from the broken frame and worn out crossbars out. I knew I was taking a chance putting money into that old carcass but I was pretty sure the transmission and engine were solid. Thanks to the good people on this forum like JDemaris that shared their info. I think I could roll out a pie crust with that six-way blade. I wish now I had taken a picture of it before restoration because it looked like something from the Highway of Death in the first Gulf War.
Two items to resolve though. Can"t find a reccomendation for the oil for the final drives and is there a replaceable asbestos gasket between the turbo and exhaust manifold. I am getting a lot of under hood exhaust from that union.
Thanks again ya"ll!

Don't know the oil for the final in yours but my 555A uses the same oil in the final as the transmission & Hydrolics. I also have the exhaust problem under the hood. New turbo and parts but a good old asbestos gasket will work if we could find one.
