Ijust overhauled a 270 replaced eveything but the cam bearing the manual refers to a special tool to remove the cam bushings which is no longer available at john deere. any suggestions on how to remove and replace these bushing?

In a perfect world, that tool would be nice to have... but last I checked, I'm not seeing perfect... Step back , look at the problem and I'm sure something could be rigged up with threaded rod and some fabricated discs to pull in the bushings. You could even have them made at a machine shop if desired to be a couple "thousandths" smaller than the new bushings so they could be used to pull out the old ones.. Or just have at them with a chisel. I'm sure it has a name, but there are chisels with rounded bottoms that are designed to lift bushings from a bore.. No rocket science here and "over-thinking" the situation will make it seem worse of a problem..Just make sure the oil hole(s) are aligned when reinstalling..
