Just bought a JCB 3cx black cab which was vandalised. It appears to be an electric shuttle shift. Some of the wiring has been pulled out of the dash.I can get the machine to drive forward or reverse by putting power into either wire for the drive solenoids. The clutch pedal operates an electric switch which appears to work in an unusual manner, when the pedal is depressed the machine moves, when the pedal is up the machine stops, is this normal? If not does anyone have any wiring information for this machine. I"ve bought a manual on ebay but it covers later machines only. Any help much appreciated.

That makes a lot more sense. So the forward/reverse switch supplies power to the forward & reverse solenoids, the clutch switch supplies an earth when the switch is closed, ie when the pedal is depressed. Appreciate the help AJ

As I remember that switch grounds the common ground wires to the F/R solenoids, when the switch is pressed the ground is broken and the solenoide go to neutral and the machine stops, someone must have changed the switch as it appears to work the wrong way round, hook the two wires off it together to keep going till you get a right one,you could try an auto store and get a plunger type switch that is closed till pressed.
