As I have mentioned before, Mississippi Road Supply of Flora, Mississippi (M-R-S) built wheel tractors using mostly IHC components and the UD-14A and UD-18A power units. They were built for both agricultural and construction use, but they were primarily aimed at the Cat DW-10 and DW-15 wheel tractors. Just for information this is a basic comparison of the M-R-S 14 and the Cat DW-10 and the M-R-S 18 and the Cat DW-15.

M-R-S 14, 460.7 cu in 4 cylinder, 76 hp@ 1400 rpm, 322# torque @ 850 rpm. Early Cat DW-10, 468 cu in 6 cylinder, 62 hp@ 1600 rpm, 292# torque @ 1100 rpm. Late Cat DW-10, 525 cu in 6 cylinder, 78.5 hp @ 1600 rpm, 335# torque @ 1240 rpm.

M-R-S 18, 691 cu in 6 cylinder, 125 hp @ 1600 rpm, 462# torque @ 850 rpm. Cat DW-15, 805 cu in 6 cylinder, 125 hp @ 1600 rpm, ? torque.

All of these models were standard with 21 x 25 20 ply rear tires and 12 x 20 14 ply front tires.

What was unique about the MRS tractors was that they used a cylinder on the hitch to the scraper which transferred weight to the drive wheels on the tractor. Dave
