I checked my clearance by placing a peice of pipe from bearing cap, clamped in the bearing clamp on the diagonal brace, to the outer trunyon on my roller frame. I measured, with a tape from pipe to inside of trunyon bearing 2 3/4 going to the rear. Front measurment is 3inch I didn't have the exact peice of pipe. I used peices of the old bearing to make it work. Tomorrow I'll find a 3in peice of pipe 4ft long and get a good measurement.
The dowels I got from cat looked different than the ones in the frame, But I did find them they were in the bearing cap, crushed up, into the grease fitting. The ones in the frame had no hole in it and the large O.D. was .642 were the new ones were .555 all the numbers were good lots of price differents
Thanks Mike get'her close all the d time

Need to measure both horizontal and vertical for parallel.
Sorry to hear the dowels did not come up right. Probably lost in superceded parts numbers. Need to get good fit or shells will jiggle around and wear the bearing bores. Have Cat match them up.
If you can get everything aligned to within a 1/8 to 1/4 inch that would be good.
The pipe check works best if you can run it through both trucks, just like it would sit on the tractor.
