I cannot shift from high to low gear, without turning off engine. Otherwise I get a grinding sound if I try to do it with engine running. Once gear is shifted, it runs fine. Has this happened to anyone else. Thanks in advance.

supertune, My machine is just a 450. The best I can remember,,,The book says that you should turn off the engine first. I used to turn it off, but have succeded in finding a way to do this. You have to have enough slack in the gears+ the right engine rpm + no load + fast shifting (I have to use my left leg to assist), and I can accomplish this.

I am working on "leaping tall buildings in a single bound" these days....sl
