I managed to sort the starter motor out on the old girl, and get her out of the creek before it came down (was a broken bendix spring, which we welded, pending finding a replacement)..

however No 2 son was operating the old girl while I was doing something else, and destroyed the RH final drive.
Looks like a bearing has gone,(which should be sourceable) and some damage to gears (which is probably repairable) BUT the final drive housing sort of exploded a little bit.

If anyone with contacts in the land of Oz should spot this, I am in fairly deep dodo poo at the moment. She Who Must Be Obeyed is not happy with the 14 ton lawn ornament, and I am rather desperately searching for a/ a replacement housing
b/ somewhere to bury no 2 son where he won"t be found

What year is the 14A. I know where a complete machine is located in GA that probably could be bought reasonably, its been a yard ornament for the last 15 or 20 years. This machine has serial # 14a4933, hadn't been started in many years, still looks pretty good though. The main problem would be loading, and transporting without messing the paved driveway up.

Your TD-14 Serial Number should read "TDF 4933",
and was made in 1942. Production of the TD-14 was from 1939 to 1948.

The TD-14A would have the PREFIX Letters "TDF" also. Production of the TD-14A was from 1949 to 1956.

The TD-14 / 141 Serial Number Prefix would start with TD-14/141 and production was from 1955 to 1956.

The TD-14 / 142 Serial Number Prefix would start
with TD142 and production was from 1956 to 1957.

How does the SERIAL NUMBER read on the crawler that you"r talking about ?
